At a Canton home, the top of a two-flue brick chimney had been exposed to rain and snow. The flue openings were uncovered, and the mortar and concrete at the crown needed repair.
Our team repaired the damaged mortar and concrete at the top of the chimney, including the chimney crown around the flues. These repairs addressed the weathered masonry before the new cap was installed.
We then installed a full-coverage chimney cap that spans both flue openings. Its overhanging roof helps shield the chimney top from direct rain and snow, while the screened sides leave the flues open for venting and help keep out larger debris.
The project photos show the exposed flues before work, repairs underway, and the completed crown beneath the new cap. Addressing the crown and the openings together gives the top of the chimney better protection from future weather exposure.
